So you may have just gotten your first set of eyelash extensions (yay!) or you may be familiar to eyelash extensions either way I'm going to go over importance of cleaning your eyelash extensions.
When you have lash extensions, the overall upkeep is very minimal and very easy to manage if you clean and brush them regularly keeping your lashes looking full and fabulous.
Not cleaning your lashes regularly can mean that your lash follicles could get clogged, which could make it difficult for new lashes to grow.
Be gentle when brushing your eyelash extensions, as you don’t want to tug at them if they are tangled or overlapping.
Cleansing regularly also helps prevent premature lash shedding. Yes clean lashes tend to last much longer than those that are neglected. Keeping them clean will mean your fill time (usually 2/3) can be (3/4) with proper care.
If you have not already purchased your foam cleanser by lonewolfbeauty no worries, you can use a makeup remover (be sure that is is oil free) I recommend a micellar water. If you do not have a foam lash cleanser or makeup remover handy you can make a gentle one using 1 part baby shampoo and 2 parts water.
Make sure that the mascara wand or spoiler you use to brush is clean.
A lack of lash cleansing not only causes oil build up but dirt and debris build up as well.
It is not uncommon for lash stylists to see clients with severe build-up of Makeup residue, oil and/or dead skin cells along their lash lines. This is not only unhygienic but it also can cut into your appointment because your stylist then has to spend time cleaning rather than filling your lashes.
Lash follicles that are not cleaned but clogged can result in your natural lashes growing on the weaker side.
Cleaning your lashes will ultimately results in a longer set of lashes and healthier lashes. Please clean your eyelash extensions to prevent infection, fall out and poor lashes.
